For your riding safety, guests must be at least 16 years of age and weigh at least 100 pounds and not in excess of 260 pounds. The age restriction is City Law and there are no exceptions. The weight restriction is recommended to prevent problems with the segway batteries or motor and the risk of accidents increases. Restrictions on Segway use is controlled by City Codes that limit the minimum age of riders to 16 years old and 100lbs, requires riders to ride on the sidewalks or designated paths, classify Segways as pedestrian vehicles and limit the maximum speed for use on the sidewalks generally 10mph. In DC the National Parks Service also restricts Segway usage on National Park property.
Our tours operate in groups of 8 people per tour guide.
Unfortunately, the tour is structured so that we can visit a large amount of Washington DC’s landmarks, which leaves very little time for any other stops. We recommend you arrive full, as you can only bring necessary items on the Segway. The tour finishes in downtown Washington DC, so you will have the opportunity to go souvenir shopping at the end of the tour.
We have the ability to transport necessary items i.e. cameras, medications, etc. All other personal belongings will be kept in the meeting location.
Yes, restrooms are available at the meeting location, but there are no easily accessible restroom stops along the tour route. If you should need to stop, please let us know and we will try to accommodate you.
Space is limited on our Segway tours and we require a minimum of 48 hours (2 days) notice for cancellations and/or rescheduling of tours. Any cancellations made less than 24 prior to the scheduled DC segway tour time will be charged a 50% cancellation fee.
All of our segway tours run rain or shine. In the event of rain, guides will have ponchos that are free of charge. If it is a light drizzle, we will continue with the tour. If it is a significant rain then refunds may be given when tours are cancelled by BiPartisan Tour Company.
